Bob, someone posted this link that had decades of my hometown papers on them. I can easily spend a couple hours searching it. I'm from a small town, and keying in relatives' names brought up one, ahem, unheard of story ($5 fine for assault!) in 1942! But there have been many other neat things I've found on it. The Studebaker dealer in town from 1926 to the end, ran an ad in 1915 for 'automotive repair' at his home address!Bill Pressler

BTW, I googled that phone number and it is a name of a guy who is still in town who told me he did own that Studebaker I remembered, but sold it and didn't know to whom.
The car was serial 64V-14402, black Cruiser, R-2 complete 'Super' package, red cloth buckets, no power steering, "Certified" speedometer, rear seat speaker, Powershift. I don't ever remember seeing the car but I've met people from other states who, when told where I was from, remembered seeing the car when they were in my hometown, en route to nearby towns (one saw it at the Studebaker dealer; one saw it on the Chevy dealer's used car lot around 1970). The original owner is still with us.Last edited by Bill Pressler; 04-07-2012, 07:03 AM.Bill Pressler

Besides you, Dave, Myles Walker of NJ (who owned a beautiful white with black vinyl sports roof '64 R2 GT Hawk) told me he used to go through Greenville en route to a customer in Kinsman, OH and he had stopped at Filer's and saw the Cruiser parked alongside the building. The owner, Maurice Eddy, was Service Manager at the Studebaker dealer the last couple years (after working there around 15 years). Really small world, and really rare car for you and Myles to remember it many years later!Bill Pressler
