  • Studes in Great Race

Saw a sound bite on the 5 o'clock news about the start of the Great Race today in North Carolina, anybody go? It showed a 55 Commander coupe? and what looked like a red 57 Silver hawk entered. Be interesting to know how many Studebakers are enterered this year.

I saw that soundbite too. Looked at the GAR website. The '55 President also ran in the 2006 race. Driver & navigator are
    A. Reichmann & U. Kammholz.
The '57 Silver Hawk driver & navigator are F. Patterson & F. Patterson.
Route this year doesn't come anyways near me. Last year it overnighted in Western PA.

The GAR will be stopping right here I Searcy around noon on July 4th. I didn't realize that there would be cars as late as any of the Hawks in the race. A few years back when I saw them come through Texarkana I do remember a few cars around 1950 or so.

            1952 Champion Starlight since October,1971. 1962 Daytona
