I saw this interesting item on eBay and wondered if folks (apart from RQ who must have boxes of them) had ever seen one before?

John Shannahan worked on a project to sync this to the silent video that it went with and put it on DVD. I've seen it a few times.Last edited by jlmccuan; 02-08-2012, 08:12 AM.Jim

'Never seen one or "heard" of it until now, John. Interesting.
(Boy, that seller has got some rare records.) BPWe've got to quit saying, "How stupid can you be?" Too many people are taking it as a challenge.

Forgot to mention, there are also posters for the event and press releases. It would be cool to put it all together as a display with AV playing the DVD in the museum.Jim

Yes, about 10 years ago the late Don Shannon [Televent Video] and myself created the DVD program "Nothing Ever Went So Far So Fast" about the Hammonton NJ Studebaker Endurance run in 1928. The silent film was discovered in the Studebaker Museum archives and then a copy of the 78 rpm narration by Quinn Ryan was located by Dick Quinn. With that material we prepared a sound track using recordings of the 1933 Studebaker Indy race car #34 on the Milwaukee Mile Speedway for actual Studebaker 8 cyl race car sounds and interspersed with 1920's music of Coon Sanders and the Kansas City Nighthawks orchestra. The end result was a nice film about 14 min's long that included many still images of the endurance race crews and drivers at New Jersey.
Unfortunately file size restrictions on this forum prevent showing the DVD wrapper label with details and car images.

It is too bad Televent Video no longer exists after Don Shannon passed away last year. He had the DVD master file and could run duplicates in minutes. I don't have production DVD burner equipment so can't produce any quantity lots of the program.
