  • The photo and the story #1 (R series Dry Cleaning trucks)

Fifteen new custom-built Studebaker trucks have just gone into service for the Phoenix Laundry and Dry Cleaning Co. Phoenix. Ariz. They were delivered by the Stewart Motor Company which also assisted in their design and production so they would fulfill the special needs for which they were purchased. Among the special features of these commercial vehicles are deep-well areas which permit long drapes and dresses to hang without folding or creasing. (1949)

Now that's a photo that could inspire some daydreaming! Being that they were Az vehicles, what is the potential that one has survived sitting in a field, barn, or behind some building somewhere?

How 'bout a custom class "C" motor home? Toy hauler? Endless possibilities...

Those certainly look very contemporary for the day. BP
We've got to quit saying, "How stupid can you be?" Too many people are taking it as a challenge.

I would certainly love to have one of those trucks! I can think of a lot of uses for one of them.
