Rear Axle: 51 Commander - Dana 44, 41, 27 ???

I saved some parts from a 51 commander. I'm trying to determine what axle it might be. I do know that it is a 4.55 non TT. It doesn't look big enough to be a 44. Any ideas?

I know that a 44 has '44' cast into the 'web' at the bottom right side of the hsng.

There are variations of each of these, but that is the basic look of each cover. Squared sides on a 27, almost round on a 41, and stretched outward to the right hand side on a 44

thanks. based on the responses, i compared the cover to my avanti and they are identical. Guess it's a 44. I thought the 4.11 and higher gears had a different housing?

Not sure about stock stuff from Stude but in the jeep world I think you can get up to like 5.38:1 or something in a 44 case, maybe more

PS I did a quick look and I found gears for all dana 44 diffs from '55-2001 in 3.08:1 to 5.38:1 for as little as $163.00 for the ring and pinion....May even be higher and lower out that was on my first search link.
