  • Vinyl Tops

Aside from the '64 GT Hawk, were there any other, post war, Studebakers with full or partial vinyl tops? Thanks, Dan

'65 and '66 Daytona Sport Sedans, as well as '66 Cruisers had vinyl tops.

To clarify what Matt said, a vinyl top was standard equipment on 1965 & 1966 Daytonas, but it was optional on late 1965 and 1966 Cruisers.

Yes, I was just going to say I had a '65 Cruiser - white with a black vinyl top - red cloth interion - that I bought from the original owner. I had the car in around 1990 - ended up selling it to Gary Johnson of Avanti Northwest fame.

I remember the car dealers would have 'vinyl top guys' come in in the late 60's and through the 70's--80's. They'd do half the inventory sometimes. Things pass. If there's one car a vinyl top NEVER looked
good on----it's an Avanti. (in My opinion).
