Were all Studebaker automatics air-cooled or did some utilize a fluid cooler in the radiator ? Thanks, Dan

All H.D. column shift Flight-O-Matics, Power Shift floor shifts, and Trucks have radiator water cooled Oil and Air Cooling. That includes '57-'58 Golden Hawks, '57 Packard Clippers and '58 Packard Hawks, also Avantis.
The H.D. Flight-O-Matics were used in H.D. Sedans/Wagons, Police, Taxi, and the later '63 & on Jet Thrust Powered Cars so equipped.StudeRich

Agreed, a separate trans cooler is a welcome addition.
"I always kind of questioned the idea of pumping hot transmission fluid into an already hot radiator, itself trying to cope with cooling an even hotter engine. Know what I mean? "
