This is sort of an intimidating project for me, the radiator cap from a 1933 Studebaker. I fell in love with the art deco detail. The chrome surface literally looks like a cheesegrater, but as I started working on the surface more and more detail is revealed. I've seen a few of these repopped and rechromed, but none retained the level of small details that are visible on this piece, I suppose due to the rechroming and the normal loss of detail in the repop process. I'm hoping I can retain the detail in this restoration as it is truly amazing.
Removed chrome and started cleaning out pits.
Tossed them in ultrasonic bath overnight and hypodermic needle detailing starts
