a little help needed

i am looking to buy a 1951 champion starlight coupe or a starlight coupe commander with the 85 horse power champion can one drive it safely at 65 mph if it has overdrive and i assume the commander in fact has the v-8 and that i think will do 65 mph with no problem but my confusion lies with 85 hp also i might add there will be only myself and my dangerous wife not hauling anything one last question what about hills is there enough power with the 85 to climb thanks in advance i am in a learning process so please understand merry christmas to all
