  • 1958 Starlight Hardtop & Packard Trunk Lid ?

I'm consused regarding which models had the Embossed Spare Tire decoraton on the trunk lids. I've seen Packards both with and without as well as Presidents both ways. Never seen a Commander with it and who the heck knows about the phantom 120 Champions (supposedly exported). Best I can conclude is that it was probably optional for the Packards and Presidents. Can anyone clarify? Thanks, Dan

It was standard on the Packard Hawk and optional on other models of Packard and Studebaker (Hawks and sedans, of course).

There's a scan of it in the 1958 Accessories catalog here: http://forum.studebakerdriversclub.c...hlight=panther

I have never seen them ordered on the sedans. I see them frequently on the 2 door hardtops, both Packard and Studebaker.
