They may not look as good from the side. I think the Stude quarter panel has less of a curve to it than the Chevy.

:) 'Not sure I'd want to jump on the Chevy bandwagon just yet, guys. I'd want to first look at all the various 1952-1954 Chrysler and, especially, DeSoto rear lamp assemblies. ;) BP

Chevy - painted - ugly. Although I must confess, I like the idea of BU lites integrated with the TLs as opposed to those afterthought things that Stude offered to clutter up the deck lid![B)]

I'm going with the tail lamps from a '53 Plymouth. The Chevy tail lamps don't have the small reflector at the bottom of the tail lamp lens. The '55 DeSoto doesn't have the chrome trim between the tail lamp and back-up lamp. The Plymouth has both of these.

They look a little like55 DeSoto that are frenched, but they may be 60's Simca. I will try to find a picture.

The 53 Plymouth didn't have the backup lens at the bottom and the 54 Plymouth had a round backup lens at the bottom.

They look too tall to be '53-'54 Chevrolet tail lights (Yes, I know the difference in the '53s and '54s, but they are the same height.). Remember, the car we are looking at is a 1955 SEDAN.

After looking at what Randy provided, the small reflectors
are not on the Chevy version and the clear,or back up light
section, appears to be taller on the Chevy lens...anybody
have another guess?

As I said, Guys; if someone looks at ALL the 1952/1953/1954 Chrysler and DeSoto tail light configurations, they are going to find the ones that are on that '55 Stude. I'll bet $10 on it. Any takers? BP
