  • #1 Studebaker collectibles – Have you ever seen…

A cuff link and tie tack set from the Lark era 1959-61

For inventory purposes I have been photographing items in my collection. Some are pretty common but others are probably quite rare. I will post pictures of some of the more unusual items from time to time under this title.

      Dick,
I managed to add that set to my collection maybe 3 years ago. I recall they were in the Asa Hall collection being offered on Ebay by Sharon Hall. Thanks for displaying them.

I can't say I've seen those from that particular year, but I have seen the set for 1966.

They were shown to me by a member in Edmonton some 25 or more years ago. I've never had a set myself. The design was the front view of a '66; it was gold with small round glass 'jewel' headlights.

Speaking of collectibles, just this past weekend I received from my sister, who was given it to give to me by our hometown Studebaker dealer, the two-record-album package called "The Story of Studebaker", from 1952 and narrated by Raymond Massey, featuring the Studebaker Male Chorus. The package is in very good condition and it appears that the records are as well. I don't have a way to play them but might look to see if I can have a place put them on CD for me (and for my brother-in-law as well who is interested).

Really sharp, Richard. Show us more stuff. I'd like to know if this set was something of an award or was it something one could buy if they wanted. When I worked for Lockheed and later for McDonnell-Douglas, they had company stores where employees could buy stuff like this. A had an MD-80 tie tack and a beach towel as well.
If these were available to car buyers/owners, how would they have known such was available?
No deceptive flags to prove I'm patriotic - no biblical BS to impress - just ME and Studebakers - as it should be.

Here is a sample of the '66 pin. Studebaker offered these on belt buckles (.85c), key chains (.85c), bracelets ($1.00), cuff links ($1.35), tie clips (.70c), money clips (.90c), sweater guards ($1.50), bolo ties (.85c) plus others. Beside the standard pin back shown above I also have the sweater guard which has two charms connected by a gold chain.

I have the complete set, but then why not since it was my department that ordered them.

I have the cuff links and the pin but without the circle around themand in silver color vs the gold. I will take a picture tonight and update this post. Love the 66 pin, would love to have one on a belt buckle.
