  • GT Hawk racing at the Dayton Speedway 1964

I thought this was interesting -- a GT Hawk in a late model stock car race. Check the and scroll down to the pictures. ( Couldn't get the picture to post here.

That is a cool shot, the team members of the '64 GT Hawk are standing on the front of a Studebaker Truck watching their Car!

That is one nice looking 64 Hawk, and I love those tires sticking out of the fenders! Cool picture. Thanks for posting the picture.

On my small screen, it appears that the Hawk has either a vinyl roof or two-tone roof.
All of the race cars appear to be 1963 or 1964 models.
I like the transporters. They are a far cry from today's transporters, but they are a couple of steps advanced from driving the race car to the track or using a tow-bar to get it there.

Driver was Dick Passwater, as I recall.

The Hawk might have won that race had it not been for the squared-off roof line.

Don't be. As I said- I'm sure mine wasn't the first, and yours won't be the last. Sometimes posting an old link in a re-freshed topic allows voices from the past to be heard, and new information can be learned from those who are no longer here...

Not so in this case, but it does happen from time to time.

Looks like the driver is standing there looking in also, the one in the middle.

I think we need that blowup picture of those super cool big tires and stance of that Race Hawk:

I would love to build a Hawk just like this one. I like it.
