  • Installing the seat in our 65 commander

Once the floor pans were installed the next thing we did was to install the seat mount plates. We removed the old plates by drilling the spot welds out. The old floors were then fitted over there new floors, to determine the location of where to mount them. We then fit the seat to make sure it aligned with the position of the holes on the floor. The holes were then drilled into the floor and the plates fitted underneath the vehicle. The original holes were slotted so aligning everything up would be easier. Once everything was positioned the seat was bolted into place using sheet metal screws to secure it so at a later time it could be welded in. The reproduction floor pans from classic enterprise fit very nicely and are accurate copy of the original floors. You can see how the seat tracks butt right against the floor contours. Next we will install the front body mounts to the floor.

        Looks like nice work.
Ya gotta love it when a little thought and sweat brings a project together.
