You are correct. I worked in Eureka in the early 70's at KINS radio and was the drag strip announcer for the Humbolt Timing Assoc. Loved the Redwoods, hated the weather.

KINS and the Humboldt Del Norte timing assoc are both going strong. Going to the last race of the year this Sunday. The weather still sucks here. We stayed in Airway Heights when we moved to Spokane. Sure like the looks of that Packard ambulance.

Saw this one last year in Napa. May still be there if someone wants to build their own.

I think that is a really cool vehicle. A late Packard V-8 would be a great addition.

I see a few desirable models there and...a couple of shiny Studes that look out of place.

The shiney Studes belong to the guys lookin' over the desirable models, like me....... There were many more on that property. I wish I could have taken home the Huppmobile Skylark! (not pictured)

                  Gordon,
Check this out. I found this in a 1955 Car Craft magazine I have. Thought you might enjoy it.

They used to have that comic on the Samoa web site in the history of the track. That's my favorite old comic for sure. The repaved the track in 2007. The Lark sure likes the new surface. Thanks for posting the pic.
