  • Auto tranny pan

    Hi,

i ordered a auto transmission shop manual but its on back order. anyone got one for a 53 v8 they could reference for me? i have 13 screws for the tranny pan. believe i either had 4 in the rear(closest to rear wheels) 3 up front and then 3 on each of the sides or 3 in rear 4 on each side and 2 on the front. could anyone tell me the proper configuration please?
Also if i am indeed missing a screw could you tell me what size bolt i need? want to pick it up on the way to work on the car.

Thanks for all the help fellas

Trans. Pan Screw: 5/16 inch X 1/2 inch long NC (National Course thread), very Standard screw. They had built-in lock washers, so you will need one of those also.

The Gasket is for a Detroit Gear DG-200 Studebaker Automatic Drive Transmission, Studebaker Part number 527783 the same on all 1950 to 1955 Studebakers, and many Jaguars, & Mercedes Benz.

The configuration is, put a screw in each hole in the case and pan.
