  • OK, I've done it

I just disassembled a perfectly good stock 49 2R5 truck. I hope someone comes forward for the old parts. I don't want to throw away anything. The motor is just a champ 6 but it has been rebuilt and runs great.

I was just tonight thinking about how much I love the sound of my 60 Lark with the completely new stock exhaust. It's a sweet little purr on the road, and at idle you almost can't hear it.

Wish I was closer, I'd like to have your engine just to have

            Too bad. It's going too.

The truck will be powered by a 5.3 liter with 4L60E. Same as in my car. Rack and pinion steering. Haven't picked out the differential yet.

The truck will still look stock inside the cab. I will be using the same steering wheel and gear lever. I am also leaving the clutch pedal in place to run the starter.

That truck will scoot right along with a 5.3. Is Dixon over by Sac?

Great project Jon. I want a ride when it is done, which reminds me, I need a ride in your car too!

Sounds like an interesting project. I bet that truck will really scoot when it is finished.

How much were you asking for the engine/tranny?
