I thought it was a generic tissue dispenser that someone put a hawk emblem on as I never have seen one like it in person or in the accessory books. But it would be cool if it was some rare rare accessory also.

I've never seen a Hawk emblem with a background like that rayed pattern. Could be a Western Auto or JC Whitney kinda thing that they fitted to a generic dispenser for kicks. Kinda like the aftermarket "Studebaker" ignition keys with the Studebaker badge or Lark bird on them. Cute - but not genuine Studebaker.
Pickin' nits maybe, but that Hawk emblem didn't debut until the '57 models. This seller says it's apprpriate for '56 - maybe as a retrofit![}:)]

It does have the special mounting hardware that is required for the fiberglass dashboards. However he has it facing the wrong way. All the 56 dispensers I have are with the staright pivoting mounting bracket.

It seems the bidders must think it's a rare item the way they are bidding. You can't blame the seller, he started it at a fair $25.00.

It looks like a regular tissue dispenser that someone put that logo on. It looks like a later Hawk emblem on something round, maybe a horn button.

Yeah, JP.... Maybe I should make up some tissue dispensers and tack repro Hawk birds on them. Don't hafta provide an AC #, just explain that it was a super limited edition kinda thing! And it would be, really, cause I wouldn't make more'n ah dozen of them or so![}:)]

I have seen several on eBay like this lately with round auto logos in the lower right. Are they period after-market? Or is someone re-popping today and adding logos at their pleasure? Any of them ever offer an original package? Hmm. Here's one now:

Why is it that Ebay blocks the name of the buyer 'until' the auction ends, and then put's up the winning bidders account name?
(Am thinking of setting up an Ebay account name of 'StupidEbayBuyer';))

I don't know the size of the item, but it looks more like an ash tray than a tissue dispenser.
I'll just keep a box of Kleenex on my seat instead.

Ebay does not list the bidders info once the bids go over $200 for several reasons, but mostly to prevent auction interference. Before, you could e-mail the bidders and say I have the item cheaper, or SASCO does, or I've seen the item and it's junk or is not a Studebaker part . They could also send fake second chance offers and the like..

I think what Jeff was saying that eBay does disclose the buyer's eBay name after the auction is over.

This item looks to me like a reproduction aftermarket item that has logos from what ever car you want. That is alright if it is identified as such, but not if it isn't. I would like one for my Cruiser but not at that stupid price. I hope no one from this forum is the buyer. If it is one of us Forgive me for giving my honest opion.
