It might be restored, but it's not correct

I just read in the July issue of Automobile magazine that the same truck just sold at auction for $39,600. I thought that was top dollar for the truck after reading about it. I understand that it is a very nice pick-up, and well cheaper than what it would cost to make one that way, but the buyer obviously thinks he got a great deal and is immediately flipping it.

Good luck with that. I hope he gets it as that just increases the value of mine.

It was on eBay recently, and did not sell at around $29,000 as I remember.

Some guys like over (and incorrectly) restored trucks.
Remember the neat Dodge Power Wagon with some gold plated trim that sold for big bucks at B-J a couple of years ago?
I guess it's the fad at the country club...an over the top truck is probably seem as more tasteful than an over the top custom or 59 Caddy.

I am not a truck expert, but I remember an E5 as being a six cylinder. If it was an E7 it would be a V8. Therefore, how can this truck have its original 259 V8?

It is indeed a nice truck, but I just don't understand the asking price.

Is that an original steering wheel on the truck in the Barret Jackson pictures?

I guess if ti doesn't seel at a lower price and see if it sells, strange. I've seen the video and the guy talks so much and fast ya can;t get a feel for the truck at all, plus the video is short.

For the 3E series trucks the 3 spoke style steering wheel was only stock on the 1/2 and 3/4 ton models that came with a factory automatic transmission. 3 spoke wheel was standard on all of the 3E 1 ton and up models.

It's a very nice truck, but it is definitely not stock.
