  • Restoration COMPLETE [PICS]

I joined this board back in December after I bought my first Studebaker - a 1959 Silver Hawk. I was greeted by many friendly enthusiasts who were very helpful and encouraging about my project.

5 months later here I am... SEMI-complete with my first ever restoration project. I have never rebuilt a car like this and am not sure that i'll be doing it again anytime soon.

Regardless, this entire project was very fun and very exciting for me.

I thank you all for your patience, advise and wisdom. More pics to come after upholstery!

I saw a bumper sticker at the Del Mar Auto Show the other day. It read "Never Good Enough"

    Thanks for viewing,
    SHAUN

Nice work! That baby will turn heads, and nobody will run into it 'cause they didn't see it. Love the colour.

Very nice job! Are you saying that first Pic of the nice looking Gold and Brown '59 Silver Hawk WAS the finished product, but then you could not leave good enough alone, and went with the eye catching Blaze Red?
The crazing paint pics look like someone (the FO?) used Lacquer over Enamel or some other kind of non-compatable combo?

                        Restored '59 Silver Hawk VIII

                        Very beautiful Car.

Unfortunately in this "down market", only about what you probably have in it or less, maybe $25-30,000.00

By the way, what is a "concealed aftermarket [HEAD UNIT]"?
