  • Need measurement on drive line shaft on 1950

It is raining here and I cant get under the cars and measure length on the drive line shafts on a standard 3 speed trans VS. Od trans. I would think that the od drive line is shorter.

Champion? The front shaft is roughly 11 inches shorter for OD trans. The rear shaft has a serial number specific difference of 1 inch.

      bummer

Gosh, that's too bad~ I was tinkering with an OD equiped '50 Champion four door sedan just yesterday~ and since it wasn't raining in Ramona (CA) I'm sure that the owner would've let me climb under it take a measurement or two.

Just a thought- can those measurements not be found in the parts book?
Mine are 16 or 1700 miles from me, sorry...

Roy, We have three drive shafts that I think are for a 1950 Champion. I'll check next time I get up there. John thought he would be coming up today or tomorrow to look at the 1950 Business Coupe and the 1950 Champion Convertible, but I haven't got a confirmation yet.

          Yes they are.

          Front shaft
          p/n 526780 less o/d is 36 7/16 inches long.
          " 526781 with o/d is 28 3/32 " "

          Rear shaft
          p/n 526782 with or w/o o/d 33 1/4 inches long.

The serial number specific parts apply to Canadian production only.
