Lark V8 overdrive

Hi, I have a 60 Lark v8 with Borg Warner over drive.
It has the three terminal solonoid.
Can anyone explain how to test if the solonoid or govener is bad?
It wont kick in when driving.

I'm sure someone will chime in, but you can print a copy of the borg warner overdrive manual online. I just did a little searching and found a complete manual that explained the function and operation of the overdrive. It has just about everything you'd like to know about the borg warner overdrive. If you can't find it, or if nobody else answers before I get home, I'll look in my copy and let you know.

problem here is that the pre-58' OD units have a relay in the system and that diagram won't help unless you can extrapolate the electrics....

Even if the wiring schematic isn't 100%, he can figure out what goes where and if power and grounds are where they should be to make things function. These things only have about a dozen wires in the whole car
