  • Avanti ash tray

    Looking for a place that nose what they are doing to fix the hinge on the
    lid of a 63 Avanti ash tray.IF some one has a N.O.S one or very very good
    used one for sale.I know it is pot metal&if some outfit specilizes in repair
    i could get it fixed.

    the ash tray was also used by GM in the Vett. also next time your in your barber shop and the ash trays are out of the arm rest, ask the barber is they were saved, the are also the same as the ananti, some with black tabs some with chrome.

      The rear ash trays are available through a vendor. I bought the bottom half of one because one of mine had rust in it!!! Leaky window due to rotted rubber seal, I suspect.
      Or are you asking aboutthe front unit?

            The Emil J Paider Company, Chicago, Illinois manufactured barber chairs that use the same ash tray. Some of the knobs were chrome and some were black plastic.

              Now THAT is the way I envision the Studebaker company operating in the fifties and sixties.
              Some exec is out getting his haircut, and looks down at the barber chair arm and goes Hmmmmmm? I wonder......
