  • Better make sure your spare tire is locked up

A NOS Avanti spare tire and rim just sold for $827 on ebay. I was surprised when it went over $150.

The whitewall should be about right for my '64 Cruiser. (It came off the line in Sept. '63, had Daytons instead of Firestones.)
How wide would you say the white stripe is? 1 1/2 inch?
    Can anybody measure one?

I have a friend with an NCRS Certified '54 Corvette. He's been offered $2K for his original spare.

      Ridiculous, isn't it?

I had a set of Torque Thrust mag wheels at a swapmeet and two wheels had Goodyear Polyglas F60-15 tires on them that were weather checked and looked terrible.Wheels were marked at $750 and a guy came up to look at them.Offered $600 so we began negotiating.come to find out all he wanted was the 2 Polyglas tires! Tossed the wheels back in the trailer and Monday de-mounted the 2 tires and delivered them 60 miles away.He was happy with 2 used tires,I was happy with the 6 100 dollar bills and I still had the wheels. The tires were correct for his 1970 Roadrunner which is a trailer queen.People are strange.

It was only eight or ten down the list from yours when I found it.
              No worries here.
