When I see pictures like this and of shopping plazas and such I wonder who took these pictures, and why? Just glad they did!

It's interesting how highways have changed in the area of safety- this one has only partial center divider, poles close to the road, no guardrails, short on and off ramps, narrow lanes; and none of those crushable barriers. Add to that the lack of safety equipment in the cars, not even seat belts. How did anyone ever survive?
