ohhh man, this is the sort of candy that will give a guy a cavity...nothing better than seeing a vintage race car actually being raced!! Double the pleasure when it's a Stude. Junior.

A fine machine, doing what it was designed for!

Wait a minute, I know that car. At least I think I do, lol.

It's a frequenter of the the shows in South Bend. This was last taken in 2007 at the International.

Two really cool Studebaker race cars. The first, the Indy racer, has always intrigued me. I have a picture of it, or one of its siblings, hanging the rear out during the Pikes Peak Hillclimb back in the day.
The Lark really does look menacing. I would love to see and hear it in person.

Found it! Tell me it doesn't one heck of a driver to do this.

"Chuck Meyers in his Studebaker Special. Accounts indicate Chuck was hired just 2 days before the race. He beat out favored Glen Shultz to win in a record 17:10.3. The Studebaker is now owned and driven up Mt Washington by Bob Yalsey of Center Harbor, NH. This photo is part of the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb archive."
