Hey Jeff

Looks like this seller is capable of handling most anything this forum can throw at him.:o

From the Ebay Add

Q: Hi, I am only interested in the sheet metal (minus fenders)and frame. Keep the drivetrain (motor & Trans) and fenders. What's that worth? Rare or not, $7500 is way too much for this rust-bucket. Pat
A: hey jackass, as a general rule, negotiations usually work better when you dont insult the person you want something from.you friggin moron

You would think that for an asking price of $7,000 the seller would provide more pictures.

02-18-2011, 09:35 AM
I don't think any more pictures would have helped his cause of trying to justify the asking price.

Now that's funny!

That was a good answer !

The car is indeed rare. I would love to see what an example looks like in restored or original condition.

A link for those who wonder what it could look like if it were restored.
And for additional $11000 and a few weekends there you go.

He mentions how rare it is, but in the last few months I have seen at least three nice ones for sale. The previous owners must have been careful because they were rare cars.

maybe thats why I dont fit in with the studeybaker crowd. not wanting to waste money makes me a moron. go figure.

02-19-2011, 11:26 AM
Not having money to waste makes me poor, not a moron. I'm not sure which I dislike more the implication of the term CASO or the vulgarity veiled in the term.
Actually, with my current situation the hobby cars may be going away.

02-19-2011, 11:37 AM
Studebakers are not a hobby car for me, nor are they for many vendors that have huge amounts invested in storing and supplying parts.
Call me wierd, but one is my everyday and only means of transportation. I (and others) make our sole living off of "hobby cars".
So yes I do take exception to glorifying being cheap for cheaps sake.
I'm not saying that there is anything wrong with saving a buck, but don't make a religion out of it.
Bad manners are bad manners.
