53 Champion Road Test, anybody have one?

Anybody have a 53 Champion road test. Need to know 0-60. A guy I work with was teasing me that his 54 Kaiser can beat my 53 in a drag race. So he has been showing me the data from an old road test.

I have looked on the net and can't find one for a 53. He's probably right, his Kaiser has a paxton supercharger, but it has an automatic. Just havein some fun at work.

I looked back through a softcover reprint book I have of old magazine articles but of several '53 ones, all were for Commanders. There is one from Motor Trend for a '54 Champion 4dr sedan with 3spd and OD. Should be about the same as a '53 I think...

Any rate, acceleration report is:

0-30: 6.3s
0-60: 21.7s
1/4 mile: 22.7s @60.4mph

Depending on the weight of the model in question, times could vary I expect.

In contrast, a '54 Commander 4dr sedan with 3spd/OD acceleration is:

0-30: 4.9s
0-60: 17.2s
1/4 mile: 20.6s @59mph
