    Studebaker at Daytona 1960?

The brief shot of the Studebaker leaving pit road was the #34 1953 Studebaker driven by J. A. Flemke. The grill of the race car looks to have been altered or was from a 1955 model. The car was originally entered with a driver by the name of Benoit Derosier of New Britian, Connecticut. Flemke was substituted for the race. The car was owned by Francis Dionne.
There were four other Studebaker bodied cars entered but this was the only one to make the field. This car was among the first lap victims of the big wreck that removed twenty some race cars from the field.
The Studebaker coupe body was used on several race cars each year in the modified race at Daytona up through 1964.

I like that the field included cars of several vintages from the 40s and 50s - if you were fast enough, you qualified. Quite a different feel from the 200mph billboard parades of late.
