Ya NEVER customize a 53 Corvette..........but if ya did this would be it. Nice car.

Even though I like the stock look better, I do like this. Now had this been a recent custom, I think I'd look at it differently

I like it a lot.

I thought 54 was the first year for the Corvette. Am I wrong?

Yes. '53 was the 1st year.

54 had a bunch of Corvette concepts though including one with a hardtop, Corvair (fast back extending past license plate), and a Nomad.

Maybe in 1959 when this was done a 6 year old car, even the first year 'vette, it wasn't such a big deal doing a full custom job on it.

Ya 53 was the first year,they were all white with red interiors,and black folding tops.and I think there were 300 built(or just over 300)
I like it a lot.

I thought 54 was the first year for the Corvette. Am I wrong?

That is really neat! I would rather see it with the Blue Flame six, but for 'vette customs, I really like this one. Maybe if I find a trashed body someday, something based on this would be very interesting indeed!
