  • Avanti interior about done

We just need to add the new decals to the factory belts and do a final detailing. Looking at this car made me think of the potential cost of making a "Cheap Avanti's interior look like this. I'm guessing 6K plus. For example, Phantom interior 3K, restore gauges, IK, recast steering wheel, $600, sill plates $400, dash pad $500. Toss in some trim rechroming and labor and your talking well over that 6K.

Mighty nice work, but from my meager experience that's what you do! Is this the interior of the "blue" (as opposed to "turquoise") '63 that you got out west recently? How is the exterior coming along? Was this car originally turquoise or some other color? I would like to talk to you about this car as I am resuming my search...Bob

            Beautiful work, John!

Do you have some before shots of the interior? Just curious what you started with.

Picture what you see a little dirty, and that's what we started with. The factory interior was bone stock, except for new carpets.

Those are the factory sill plates from the factory. SI sells them for $400/pair.

I ordered a pair two weeks ago and was told they are and back order and would not be available for 3 or 4 months.
