I have replaced my steering column ( years ago ). I am not sure what year column is in the car now.
It is a 55 C body . The shaft is 0.750 , and has 40 count splines . I want to interchange a smaller wheel in . I do not care about authenticity , or horn/turn signal wires.
Any help , please. ( I did a search BTW ).

I reduced the steering wheel down to 15 inch on my 49 truck and used the center of the steering wheel. Send me a PM and I will explain it. If interested.

I did this as well. Use the hub after cutting all spokes off, smoothe, use filler, and paint. Then some engineering is needed to attach to the center assembly of your chosen new steering wheel. Grant applications are good only for the 56 and later steering shafts. Thanks, m weiss

That's what I was hoping to find out , ie: is my current column possibly a 56 and later or what? That is why I put in the dimensions .
If I can't use a Grant kit , then I'll modify as needed .
Thanks
