I have always praised Greyhound for their service in delivering large items. I have always also been on the receiving end so I had never had to arrange the shipping. (always SASCO did mine) . Well today I bought some plastic bumpers from a man in Calf. and he and I have been going round and round with everyone on shipping them. USPS said no way to big. UPS said no, Fed Ex says only if we have a buisnness account (working on that) And Greyhound said no on their website. Any Idea's, I got to believe Greyhound does this. The bumpers are large(long) but very light and not wide. Any Help would be appricated. Thanks

I'm not going to be of any help getting your items shipped.
But I can tell you that they do ship stuff as long as bumpers and much heavier.
I bought a N.O.S. Dana 44 rear end with internal gears from a member in Ohio.
He took it down to the depot and after taking care of the shipping info and finances it was on it's way. It arrived
in Medford, Oregon in three days. And they even helped me load it into my car!
If memory serves me correctly, it cost about $80 to get it shipped.

Yes, after a quick trip to their web page I figured out the person I was buying the bumpers from did not know how to figure the size. Once I talked with him we are good to go. Will send on Monday. will give everyone an update when completed. Thanks. About $72.00 for both bumpers taped together.

I just got a price from all three on shipping a 63 tail gate for the wagon, no window or cranking hardware, weights 55 lbs, is 54 long, 24 wide and 7 thick from California to South Bend usps $107.00 Grey hound $75.00 Ups $75.00 with first $100.00 of insurance is free it goes out UPS this week. I think Greyhound bang things up more than ups and loose item that they find a month or so later in some other City, been there done that.

Calf to South Bend. Is this tailgate coming home after many many years of living in Calf.??????. Just it hit me funny everything for many years went South Bend to where ever. As far as Greyhound banging things up I am not worried on this shippment as they are used rubber bumpers for a 2008 Scion XD. I will say in the past everything SASCO sent me via Greyhound arrived in perfect shape.

I don't know what it is about the staff in Dallas, but they are completely self-destructive when it comes to customer service. Glad to hear that your shipping came out all right. Yes, sometimes delicate items would get beat up with Greyhound. you have to keep in mind that your item is in a Baggage Bin with a lot of other luggage. Add to that, the poor driver has five minutes to unload, load, and in some cases, even sell tickets. Trust me, it's a nightmare. If one is sending something delicate via the dog, the best thing to do is make sure it's well padded.

As to shipping estimates: wrap it up and prepare it beforehand, then take it to the depot. The Agent is a better person to talk to than the staff in Dallas who are suffering from a severe case of anally inserted cranial retention.http://serve.mysmiley.net/winking/winking0071.gif (http://www.mysmiley.net)http://serve.mysmiley.net/tongue/tongue0006.gif (http://www.mysmiley.net/free-scared-smileys.php)
