V8 Water Pump?

The photo appears to be an early cadillac. I have an OE casting of one of these laying around the shop. The cadillac guys sometimes really get taken for a ride on the cost of these pumps.
Ya, although they all denied it, studebaker copied a lot of the design features of the caddy engine & Chrysler copied a lot of studebaker features in their B engine designs.
One time I was working with a GM engineer on an update for the evolution of the big block chevy engine. He told me he had been to a car show & saw a B engine Mopar & thought the design of the water pump & manifold would work with what they wanted to do. I told him I could show him a better system & the next week took him a Studebaker pump & manifold that I had cleaned & painted for display. His design group laughed about the idea of the mighty big block using studebaker technology. As it turned out, our design didn't get past the first prototype stage. The eventual winning design was a one piece pump.

It's not what yall think it is.....
Look at the lower fitting and heater core fitting for the radiator hose on the water manifold. On our cars they are pointed toward the passenger side. These fittings are pointed toward the driver's side, and I think the heater core fitting is separate from the lower radiator hose fitting. The manifold looks similar, but it's for a different make.1964 Studebaker Commander R2 clone
1963 Studebaker Daytona Hardtop with no engine or transmission
1950 Studebaker 2R5 w/170 six cylinder and 3spd OD
1955 Studebaker Commander Hardtop w/289 and 3spd OD and Megasquirt port fuel injection(among other things)
