gas tank sending unit mounting

57 Silver Hawk: When I removed the gas tank sending unit I set it where I could find it and get the screws to install a new one...1 1/2 years ago. The barn grimlins must have moved it out of site (they do that often on the rebuild). Anyway, the manual just states "screws". Are they self tapping screws or is it 5 machine screws...were they brass?

They are (in my '53 and '55) steel sort of self tapping (not standard pitch machine) screws, with copper washers. I'd send an email to SI (info (at) Studebaker-intl.com) [replace (at) with @]. I don't think they are in their catalog, but they may have them anyway.
