  • How wide is wide enough?

I'm looking into getting a set of wide whites for my '51 Champion. I've seen different widths of white walls in the catalogs.

So how wide should I go? What was on the car when it was built?

Any recomendations as to vendors would be appreciated as well.

    Thanks!

Don't know what the original width was. The ones I put on my '51 are 2 3/4" and look appropriate; not garish nor understated.

There is another company something like Diamond Back. I have their tires on my car. They buy top of the line tires, remove the lettering and vulcanize whatever side wide white you want.

As far as width, I was told that it depends on whose tires Studebaker was using the day your car was built. Kind of hard to narrow down.
