I finally made some progress on my Lark this weekend. We put off working on Joe Robert's Cruiser to make my Lark a little more weatherproof for our Outer Banks tour coming up this weekend. With Joe's help we managed to repair some rust holes, hang the new nose and install one of the fiberglass fenders I aquired. I am no metal fabricator but I am more that satisfied with the results. The fender lined up almost perfectly, much to my surprise. Now a lot of sanding and priming to do. Thanks Joe for all of the help and encouragment. Pics to follow, I hope.

I had a great time helping you with this Jamie. Actually I let Jamie point to what he wanted me to do and then I tried to do it (sometimes with success and sometimes not). I think the outcome of the weekend's work is pretty good. I was rather leary about lining up the fiberglass fenders, but as you can see from the pictures you can't get things lined up much better than this with steel let alone fiberglass.Joe Roberts

Thanks Gord. I still have a long way to go. The right side of this car seems to have suffered most of the rust damage. The door, rocker and trunk floor have some issues while the left side is pretty solid. From what I understand, the car was from the Washington DC area. Maybe there was more salt on the curb side of the road. After our tour, I hope to make some progress on Joe's Cruiser then work on a couple of cool projects, then blow mine apart and give it a proper paint job.
I know she not too pretty right now but I would not hesitate jumping in and driving to the west coast.
I think I'll name her Ugly Betty for now (subject to change as things improve) since her big sister is Sweaty Betty.
We will at least get some more primer on her this week.Jamie McLeod

Repair update
I got to replace my bent driveshaft today after sending it to the driveshaft shop to find some u-joints that fit. There is no telling what this shaft came out of but it is now a Studebaker part. I repaired the right side manifold/exhaust flange leak and re-hung both sides of the exhaust. What a difference. The car is nice and smooth with no rattles form the exhaust.
I have to give Joe Roberts thanks again. He has been more than willing to do anything I asked on the car and hasn't talked back to me. Not once!!! He's one of the good guys.Jamie McLeod
