The Southern California plant was in the the city of Vernon, a suburb of Los Angeles. I know they were there post war till about 1958. Somebody may be able to give exact dates.

The Vernon assembly Plant was in Vernon, near Los Angeles and built Cars only, through the 1956 Model year.

The first Vernon car was assembled on November 23, 1935 a '36 Dictator sedan (serial 5955801). The last was a Champion serial G938796 assembled on June 6, 1956. In the approx 20 years of production (minus the war years) 265,976 cars were assembled in this plant. For a comprehensive illustrated history of the Vernon plant see my Almanac column in Turning Wheels for July 1996.
