After all the discussions all the bad luck that he has had with Studebakers that he has had to fix up. I can't believe that you are calling his name to this one. He decided and we all agreed with him that he should choose a more complete car. One that is a daily proven driver to begin with. To help encourage him not discourage him from the hobby that is Studebakers. Where is the Studebaker that you will Drive, on "Drive your Studebaker Day." I want to finally see a Driver Studebaker that you have, since you, are the expert on Studebakers. I am in one of those put your money where your mouth is spots in my life. You Got it Show it!

You surprise me, Anne! When I saw this car I remembered that the only reason Bob sold his coral 59 was because he wanted AT. He really missed that car. I was thinking of this thread:

      http://forum.studebakerdriversclub.c...t-begins-again...

Note his last post: "...this time, i have a daily driver and not as dependent on the studebaker as i was previously." Bob and I have also conversed offline; he was interested in my 59 2dr. 6 auto; distance being the real killer. I told him I'd keep my eye open.

Here's another Coral 2dr, only this time with AT. Just what he wanted. I saw it and posted it. Chances are he'll want a better car to start, but just in case I posted it- for the same reason as always- to help. How would that "discourage" him??

When and where did I ever say I was an expert?? Answer- never. In fact I frequently mention how I am a relative newbie to the Studebaker world. Don't know why anyone would ever say that.

FYI, I will not be driving any Studebaker on DYSD. I am just starting to see daylight from almost losing everything trying to keep a business going through the Barackolypse. This entailed selling most all my enjoyments- Lincolns, Caddies, a Corvette, and all my running Studes; and one building. I have a couple Studes left, but have not dared spend even a hundred bucks on them. You know, paying bills, salaries, feeding family, kid in college, etc. Wouldn't matter much anyway, since Labor Day Weekend is one of the busiest of our entire year, with racing events we've been involved with for 30 years.

I've almost emerged from the woods, at which time I'll be able to play Studebakers a bit more as I continue to clean up the mess of 2008-09. Till then I'll still be working all day, first at my job, then spend half the night working on extinguishing the fires of the day; and taking the occasional break to participate on this forum, since it's been mostly all the escape I've had.

And folks taking jabs or reading negative intentions into my motives will do nothing to deter that.

There are always a few cranks with issues sniping, sometimes publicly, sometimes offline. They've thrown their credibility away and have zero effect. But this coming from you is really surprising.

Hope I've answered all your concerns.

I would really hate to get in the middle of a scuffle like this, but the last I heard from Bob S. it was more about being BOTH a V8, AND an automatic. Please note this from the same thread posted above~

"I'd prefer a V8 and a 2 door as it will need to be able to support the addition of a/c."

So, remember~ not only was the 3 speed/overdrive an issue, but the lack of A/C also came into play with that first little Coral Lark. While your post does show a 2 door (and a hardtop at that!!!) it is noway, nohow a V8!!!

Not to mention that eBay car looks almost as bad as a parts car we have here at Casa de SNW...

        I'm just sayin'

I'm also gonna stay out of the other stuff--
I have lost alot in the last few years, thanks...

(I think my mind was one of those things!!!)

You're right Dave, I know it doesn't fit what he was looking for in a lot of ways; just posted it just for fun and just in case- in part to let Bob know I was still thinkin' about him if he happened to look in. And who knows, it might have sparked something in him... In any case, a harmless post, tongue-in-cheek, as my title suggests. That's why I am bewildered by my friend Anne's completely unwarranted attack. Just a bad day I guess.
