  • Studebaker weekend

Had an interesting weekend with the 50 pickup. Keep in mind that the old truck sat for two years and has only done parades for the past 24. The 25 mile drive to the parade and show went well. After registering, the starter wouldn't work. After a push start, I drove to the parade staging area and parked on a hill. When it came time to leave, the truck started fine. As the parade slowed to a complete stop, I watched the temp gauge climb to a point that I had to shut it down. Needless to say I only made about 4 blocks of the parade when the smell of burning oil caught my attention. I found that the rubber part of the oil pressure gauge line had burst and covered the firwall with engine oil. After plugging the line, I gave up on the parade and went to the show (didn't enter). The 25 mile drive home went well though. I did notice that the cooling fan is a long distance from the radiator. Is there suppose to be some sort of extension or a shroud?
