61-62 Lark gauge question?

Are the white face standard gauges supposed to be the same color in the middle.The 61 gauge I have on hand has a nice dark black center. The 62 gauge looks to be a nice gray in the middle. Were the 62 gauges originally gray or is it just evenly faded to gray?

Gordon, Yes they are the same gauge. Only the Black faced '62 Regal, Daytona, Cruiser gauges are different.

I put the black 62 gauges in my 61 Lark back in high school. My new 61 has a bad speedo. I don't like the looks one faded gauge and the other not. I'll have to look in storage to see what my other ones are like.
