      a.k.a. the 'Chicken' Coupe Express

I knew it in it's a prior life~ before the SNM got it.
(they still have not put it's signboards back on, I see...)

That is indeed a nice truck.
It was found by the Founding Fathers of the North Puget Sound SDC--
brothers Gene and Ted Dana, and good friend Jack Merrill.
They found it in a chicken coop in Edmonds, WA.
A COMPLETE frame-off resto it got.

Later today I'll post a picture of how I like to remember it...

        as promissed...

Here's how I like to remember it~ free to roam...

That picture looks old, because it is!!! Jack and I were on our way home from the Can-AM Zone Meet that was held in Billings, MT back in 1993. He drove it there from Edmonds, WA.

Nice brief history and pic of car . . . When those cars enter the museum are they trapped inside forever , or do they get some drive time exercise on occasions ?

I have no idea. The '37 CE and a 'certain' white R1 powered '64 four door sedan were donated (as arranged by Jack) shortly after his passing in 1994. I wouldn't mind taking either one for a spin-- just to relive an old memory or two...

I was just there last Thursday. looks good up close. That was a great experience for me. Wife was kind of ho Hum but I felt like it was kind of a pilgrimage of sorts. A really well done museum. just one small disappointment. It's hard to get good photos.

I wish alot of the cars in the SNM could get some road time, but they rarely do. Sometimes the cars do get out for a while, suck as the SNM had a car on display at a car show last early last month. But sometimes car will get out permenately. If you looked at the cover photo of this months TW, the yellow flatbed Champ used to be in the museum, but was sold when they moved. I guess that champ was restored in 1982, driven to the SNM, and donated, but later sold on Ebay.

Better lighting - more car related stuff - some zing !

I've been looking for an excuse to volunteer there, or join it, something.
