I have a rather bad oil leak around the oil pan. My question is this, should I try to find a gasket kit for it or should I just use Permatex to seal it?

Gasket should be readily available from your [u]F</u>riendly [u]L</u>ocal [u]A</u>uto [u]P</u>arts [u]S</u>upply and definitely from major Stude Vendors. Are you sure it's the pan gasket leaking? Before replacing, make certain the pan flange is straight and flat.Brad Johnson,

All of us Studebaker vendors at studebakervendors.com carry all the pan gasket sets, timing gear cover gasket & seal sets, rear main seals etc. that you MAY need to fix this, and yes it WILL take a pan gasket and probably some or all of the rest to fix it! [:0]
