  • '63 Hawk comming together

Finished day 2 of assembly. This car kind of "falls" together [8D].

    The engine compartment is close...

I should be able to start it tomorrow, bleed the brakes, and take it over to my house (exchanging it in the rented garage for my M15 currently parked at home).

Tail lights on and hooked up...

    Headlights in and hooked up...

I've also installed the horns and the rest of the brackets to hold the side grills.

Wiper motor back in, hooked to the arms and wiper studes reinstalled...

I also got the gas fill door on, hood latch and a few other odds and ends.

    This part is fun

Saw your truck on the back cover of the April TW, you should send photos of this Hawk in when it is finished.

This Hawk is the "polar opposite" of my M15 (but I love them both)

Will this be the first $100,00 Barret-Jackson Hawk? If not it should be. Great work Dick.

                    Dick,
Your GT hawk is realling looking great. I'm looking forward to
seeing the end result as I know you are.
I have a request. If possible I would like to see a picture of
the hood when you paint the flat black area behind the grille shell
before the grille shell is installed. I need to do mine and I would
to see what that looks like. Thank you very much.

Dick - This is an excellent Hawk. I think that you should have it judeged and not just shoot for a First, but rather a Best of Division. With it this good, I just have to question a couple of things. On this monitor, the color of the battery cable looks wierd and shouldn't the gaskets/seals/washers under the wiper posts be black? I can't remember - Should the battery hold down be held on with wing nuts, rather than the six sided nuts that you are using?

If we're nit picking, the plastic check valve on the hydrovac is incorrect too.
