my 63 lark cruiser's gas gauge either reads full or empty.It has a newunit in it.Do I have a bad unit?Any suggestions?

What we don't know here, is what do you do to make it go from empty to full or vice versa? [:0]It may be a poor connection at the sender or poor ground on tank, you could try attaching a ground jumper wire from one of the 5 mounting screws to bare metal and note any change.

You may eventually have to bite the bullet and take it out for bench testing the resistance as you move the float rod. Yeah, just go ahead and do it, so you can get that mystery solved.
