  • Anyone Going to Macungie PA This Weekend

If you're visiting the show in Macungie please say hello. I'm bringing my turquoise R2 Avanti for the first time on the showfield. I'm also offering rides to anyone that would like to feel a nice shifting 700R4.

    Ernie,

What type of show is there this weekend? I have only attended truck shows in the past, I did not realize they catered to cars. . By the way, your car came off the line just prior to mine which is serial number R5400 and is a R2 4 speed car.

1,000-1,500 basically stock antique and special interest cars, nice vendor area and as you must be aware a really nice venue. I've been visiting for about 12 years now, finally have the car to a point that it's presentable enough to display. Registration was closed a few months ago. There is a good variety of cars with a fair amount of orphans.

I have been to the truck show held in mid June and it is a nice venue. Usually a number of Studebaker trucks there too. High gas prices are making a bit tougher to make those sort of last minute trips from Va.

I first went to Macungie for a car show in the early '70s. I had preregistered my '53 Commander Starliner. After driving it down from Hopewell Junction, NY, the guy at the gate didn't want to let me/my car (not up to his standard)in. After some discussion, we got in. It was a nice show and nice location. I have gone since, most recently in a '63 Avanti, but not recently.
