Someone put a lot of love on this one. And left the straight six! Nice paint work, great interior, nice wheels (check out the center caps). I'd rather have this than a new S-10, that's for sure.

Hmmm......nice truck! But '63 Champs didn't come with flatheads, they had the OHV six. Interesting swap.

I e-mailed the owner advising him of the same thing, but never heard back.

Looks like he's getting a respectable price on it.:D

Very nice! Too bad it's not the BIG 6 3spd O/D THAT would be a cool combo for a truck. Actually, the 60 Champ COULD be bought with that Big 6 - it was the last year they offered that veteran motor. The 5E6 and 5E11 models were 1/2ton & 3/4ton Champs with the 245cu.in. flathead 6. [:p]

Roger that on the '60 Champ with the 'Big' six!!!
Dad's 3/4 ton has no O/D, but a trans of that type waits in the wings...
Said truck is one of several vehicles that my Grandfather sold to himself when he was a salesman at Frank H. Afton in Inglewood, CA. I've driven the truck once or twice, and never could get it moving without spinning the tires~ it's got some power! Of course it tops out at about 55 MPH as well.

From here, that's one beautiful paint job. Wish I had the room for it. I know that the engine's supposed to be the OHV 6, but I agree with those who said that the flat head six is better.

It's good to hear some folks saying the flathead six is better than the OHV, since I have a flathead six.

But, what is it that is better about the flathead? I'm curious.

I'm pretty sure it's because the nickname's better: "Flattie" is cooler than "Ovie"...

Ah, well known to you, maybe, but not to me. You see, Matt, I haven't been really into Studebakers for nearly as many years as you have! [8D]

Ah... missed that. Well, then, the selleris better off. No way I'd have let that truck go for that amount, either.
