I think there are a lot more 58 Packard and Studebaker hardtops out there than we think, in hidding.

I don't see any Packards on the site.

If anyone has any interest in these vehicles, we could always see if a load could be put together to lessen the shipping expenses. Being from South Dakota, the sheet metal is probably better than most of us can find. After the Asa Hall sale last year, I was able to get my '49 2R17A firetruck, a '41 M-15 flatbed, a 64 GT R1 Hawk, a full pallet of GT parts and 22 truck tires on a 53 foot step deck trailer!

I was hoping to find a nice rust free Transtar truck, but do not see any listed.

                  Dick,

If you liked that image, you would have loved the prior load with my '62 7E13D 4x4, and Chester Bradfield's '58 4x4 and '42 M-15 railroad truck loaded on the back. Not much room to spare that load either and it certainly got a lot of looks coming south on I-81. I will shoot you a picture of that in the morning.

                      Dick,

It was raining pretty hard when the picture was taken, so the quality was not the best. But any time you get 3 Stude trucks on 1 load, it probably is a "Kodak moment"!

I met the owner vending at the Iola, WI swapmeet in '95 I think. Made a trip out to that yard later that summer. I did get a few stude parts I needed for my '53. At least at that time, most of the cars were not picked over that much. Story was it was his father's yard and it had been closed for years and the son was operating it as a hobby on the side. Those Packard HT's are (or were) sitting side by side. One of them had been side-swiped in a wreck so that one side of the car was sorta scrapped and banged in, but not severely. Someplace I have photos (sorry, not digital) of some of the cars there in '95. There was a Desoto Airflow that looked completely intact and a number of other things you never see anywhere... Hartford is not too far west of Sioux Falls off I-90.

                            Hi
Does that '58 Packard hardtop look good! There is another rarity next to it in the picture: a '56 President two door!
Would love to have both those there in western NY, were it not so costly to do so.
                            And that '27 Commander, sweet!!!!
