I know this car; it was in the barn where my wagon was...

The seller is a little shady; made me pay for stuff that went to the car; and hid a few things that I even paid for (front pans w/signals, bumper brackets, new replacement interior panels![}:)])

The car is nice, but NO PROOF of the 12K miles; hard to really tell from the car...

The pics in the ad make it look a little better than it really is...

I noticed that one of the rocker switches doesn't match the color of the others. Also, for a car with only 12K on it the sun visors are showing heavy usage.

Also:

I bid it to $1500... he bought it for $1525 through one of his other numbers; and readily admitted it to me!

He has several names- this one is new... when I bought mine he was "e-z lister"... believe he's still using that...

I now wish I had bid more; but there was no way to doc. the miles; and the floor crunched when I stepped on it...

Looks like he hit a "Home Run" on that one......[B)]

I have a hard time believing the mileage on that one too,and Ive only seen the pictures. If you have doubts having seen the car, buyer beware.

It's already bid to over $4,000 with two days to go and it's a 4-door:D. Personally, that looks like a really rusty car to me. I'd hate to think what the undercarriage looks like (after seeing the barn is was parked in). Even the interior chrome is rusted. There's rust showing on the roof also.[}:)]

Looking at the rust in all the jambs,I think this car is trying to self-destruct,from the inside- out.One pic clearly shows rust holes in the roof.
112,000 might be believable.
He demands a certified check, payment in full,by overnight mail-I'm afraid this one's gonna become the 'poopLark'

That close-up shot of the Speedometer makes me leery, 'cause I have about a dozen '64 speedos, and the better ones have glossy metallic green faces with crisp bright white markings.
The pictured one looks old and dull and oxidized, has lost its metallic "sheen", and the markings are very yellowed.
While this 'could' be attributed to long term high humidity 'barn' storage, my own Studes are also stored in a Michigan dirt floored barn, and none of my gauges have "weathered" to any significant degree, even those with over 100k on them appear much newer and 'cleaner' than the those in that car.

I think it's a fairly low mile car, poorly stored. If I had to guess based on condition, I'd bet it's under 112,000, but over 12,000 miles. (50-60 K??) It looks like someone is going to pay way to much for the car. Even if the seller is not trying to pull a fast one, the pictures will flatter the car, hiding a lot of defects. i.e The cheap Avanti's paint actually looks decent in the pictures, but is pretty nasty close up.

12K miles? I don't think so.[}:)] He doesn't go out of his way to show you the trunk floor or give a peek under the carpets. Look at the rust staining on the sill plates. Look at the gas-worn paint below the filler cap.[B)]
Pretty car, not a 12K mile car tho.[:I]

Boy, you're right about that... I'm amazed at how much better it looks in the pics as opposed to in person...[:0]

I think that model is beautiful, but this example reminds me of some of the cars on the classicresto site - as Melvin often says "looked ok until we stripped it." Just goes to show you need a Stude expert's opinion before offering to purchase it.
