That's the one. I was looking at yours Jim but I'm not sure about that little V8. What's your opinion?

That 232 V8. My 50 and my 36 both have sixes I'm not familiar with the V8's. Thought the 232 was the smaller, older one. Is'nt the 53 on Ebay yours?

Ben...slow down.
If you read the caption....it's a "Chevy"...262cu.in., V-6.
Nice engine...but not sure if I'd have done that.

Mike

Yes, the 53 is mine, and has a 53 232 cu.in engine. Nothing wrong with that, it'll still cruise at 80-85 MPH all day. If it was not recently rebuilt I would recommend bolting in a used 289, and you still could.
Adding a small 4 barrel would pep it up as is, and it already has duals and the late, bigger exhaust manifolds. Not a race car as is, but no problem keeping up with modern traffic and the 20 plus MPG is a nice deal today. BTW, it's John, not Jim, that's what confused me.

It's here:

I'm looking very closely at your 53, John (sorry) Im wondering if the crank on the 53 will take the load of an air conditioning compressor cutting off and on. I know some of the early golden hawks had A/C but I think the compressors stayed on while the units were on.
